Why Jews—And Others–Should Not Vote for Hillary on Tuesday

06 Nov

Fifty years ago on a sunny Sunday morning in April, I was watching a television program (channel 7 in New York) about Passover. Although I don’t remember the specifics of the whole program, I do remember vividly a statement made by Rabbi who responded to a question from the host, “The essence of Judaism is the sanctity of the individual” (emphasis added).

When I heard these words and realized that the uniqueness of every individual human being is the core of our journey in life, it was not long after watching that program that I learned about libertarianism and how this political philosophy dovetails with Judaism. In fact, after I was the New Jersey’s Libertarian Party’s nominee for governor in 1997 I was invited by Rabbi to speak to his congregation on a Friday night. My topic that evening was in keeping with what I heard 20 years earlier, “Why Jews should be libertarians.”

My message that evening nearly 20 years ago was clear. Given the history of the Jews, government is the last institution they should trust. And the fact that Moses gave the world the Ten Commandments, two of which are the foundation of libertarianism, “Thou shalt not steal,” and “Thou shalt not kill,” Jews should be in favor of either a stateless society or very limited government in which the “government fears the people” and not the other way around.

Bill Weld…Quisling and Hillary Shill

03 Nov

The Johnson-Weld ticket is an embarrassment.  They should do what my high school teacher told my class on several occasions:  “It is better to appear dumb than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.”  Pack it in boys.

The Clinton Collapse.  What–who–is responsible for it?

31 Oct

“The consensus view seems to be that the Establishment and the Deep State see Trump as a loose cannon who might upset the neo-con apple cart by refusing to toe the neo-con line. This view overlooks the reality that significant segments of the Deep State view the neo-con strategy as an irredeemable failure.”

The New McCarthyism…led by Hillary

26 Oct

“I’m often taken to task by some of my readers for characterizing the current anti-Russian hysteria as “McCarthyism.” After all, they say, Sen. Joseph McCarthy was right – there were, indeed, high-ranking individuals in the US government covertly sympathetic to the Soviet regime. And, yes, we now know that many of these were working directly …”

Progressives:  Be careful what you wish for, a Clinton presidency

24 Oct

“The Clinton campaign’s full-scale effort to turn this election into a referendum on Vladimir Putin is causing liberals like Katrina vanden Heuvel, editor of The Nation, and Glenn Greenwald, the energizing force behind The Intercept, much heartburn. Here is Ms. van den Heuvel wondering what the heck is going on: “How does new Cold War …”

Trump’s Missed Opportunities… Hillary’s left-wing agenda and warmongering

20 Oct

Since it’s midterm time let me give each candidate a letter grade for last night’s debate performance. Donald gets a B- and Hillary gets her usual F, for her collectivist ideology, trickle-down economics, and continued warmongering.

Donald missed several opportunities to hit a grand slam for the night, which would’ve turned his performance into an A+. Let me explain.

U.S. digging another very deep hole in the Middle East

13 Oct

“Overnight, the U.S. military not only did not rebuke the Saudis for a military campaign that has claimed nearly 10,000 innocent civilian lives, but became the latest entrant in the Yemen offensive, when it launched cruise missile strikes on Thursday to knock out three coastal radar sites in areas of Yemen controlled by Iran-aligned Houthi forces targeted by Saudi Arabia.”
