Upcoming Talk About Trump and the Economy

The Allendale Republican Club will have its April meeting on Monday, April 3rd at 7:30 at Borough Hall (500 W. Crescent Ave Allendale)

We will be welcoming special guest speaker, Dr. Murrary Sabrin. Dr. Sabrin is a former U.S. Senate Candidate and is currently a Professor of Finance at Ramapo College. He will be sharing his insight on the current State of the Union.

Sabbatical Day 54

Took the weekend off after nonstop reading for more than 7 weeks.  Back to reading essays about financial bubbles and a few books beginning Monday for the next couple of weeks before I begin writing up my findings.

Sabbatical Day 52

10 Mar

Read several essays by Krugman and Stiglitz.  Both received the Nobel Prize in Economics.   Nevertheless, they both are critical of free markets and focus on aggregate demand as the best way to achieve economic growth.  Order Robert Shiller’s Irrational Exuberance, the third edition.  Shiller also is a Nobel Laureate and predicted both the dot com bubble and housing bubble.

Wrote a letter to The Record about an op-ed today about the GOP replacement for Obamacare.  I will post it when it is published in the paper.

Finished reading Sheehan’s bio of Greenspan.  Sheehan is very critical of Greenspan the individual and Fed technocrat.  Read more essays by Princeton economics professor and former vice chairman of the Fed Alan Blinder.  Read several essays by Martin Feldstein, Harvard economics professor and Reagan’s chairman of the Council of Economic Advisors.
