Global bubblemania

06 Jul

David Stockman makes the case it’s 2007, all over again.

“Nearly everywhere on the planet the giant financial bubbles created by the central banks during the last two decades are fracturing. The latest examples are the crashing bank stocks in Italy and el…”

What becoming a citizen means to me

06 Jul

I sent the following letter to The Record yesterday about a July 4th swearing in of new citizens.

Regarding “Sworn on the Fourth of July” (Page L-1, July 5):

The naturalization ceremony at Liberty State Park (a very apropos named venue) where a group of 21 individuals from many countries became U.S. citizens reminds me of the time I raised my right hand in lower Manhattan 57 years ago to pledge allegiance to my new country and uphold the principles of the U.S. Constitution.

Twice in the past decade I have spoken to newly naturalized citizens in Newark and at Ramapo College; the latter took place on Constitution Day, September 17. My remarks were quite simple. I said naturalized obligations have a special responsibility to our newly adopted unlike native-born Americans; we take an oath to uphold the Constitution, just like elected officials from the President of the United States to local officials.

We thus should make sure that our elected officials uphold their oath of office. Since June 25, 1959 when I raised my right hand before a judge in Lower Manhattan, I can say without equivocating that I have passionately defended the U.S. Constitution. I cannot say the same for presidents, members of Congress, Supreme Court Justices and others who have taken the oath to defend individual liberty, the core of the American experiment in self-government.

Since 1959 undeclared wars, trampling on individual rights, among other unconstitutional acts by politicians from both major political parties, shows clearly that our elected officials and justices have paid lip service to their oath of office.

Target Liberty: Roger Stone Predicts FBI Director Will Recommend Indictment of Hillary, But….

04 Jul

We shall soon see if Stone is on the money.  If his prediction comes true, will this cost Hillary the election as Ford’s pardon of Nixon in 1974 contributed to his defeat by Carter in 1976.

Hillary’s uninspiring campaign

03 Jul

Hillary’s message is really quite simple:  “I am a woman.  I want to be president.  It’s my turn. Now get on board!

“It’s a failure that some Democratic insiders find perplexing”

Do the secret 28 pages have the answer?  Did the Bush administration allow 9/11 to happen as a pretext to invade Iraq?

Why they fear the Clintons?

03 Jul

Tom DiLorenzo may have the answer why the Clintons are the “Teflon couple”

“One of the first of thousands of Clinton administration scandals was that they were caught illegally in possession of hundreds of FBI files of all the Republicans in D.C.  We can assume that these were used by the Clintons to do as much political blackmailing as they could get away with.  There is no reason to believe that they don’t still have this information, and that they have gathered much more, using their vast wealth to have hired private investigators, something they were well known for doing.  When I was asked two months ago at a conference if I thought Hillary would be prosecuted, I said “no,” I expect that she will blackmail her way out of it.”

And Democrats ride the high moral ground with America’s political equivalent of “Bonnie and Clyde”

03 Jul

Why are people so afraid of the Clintons?

“She can’t help herself. Even yesterday, with the political world fixated on her meeting with FBI agents, Hillary Clinton had her flack mislead the public. A spokesman said she gave a “voluntary” ”

If Hillary walks…

03 Jul

…any American who is investigated by the federal government or any level of government for alleged criminal behavior can invoke the “Hillary defense”, “I made a mistake and it is time to move on.”  A Hillary administration  would be the most lawless in our history.

Must reading for all politicians–and the general public as well

The greatest economics journalist in American history explains.

“Economics, as we have now seen again and again, is a science of recognizing secondary consequences. It is also a science of seeing general consequences.”

How Hillary became a proponent of the military-industrial complex

01 Jul

According to Hillary, Vietnam and Iraq were “mistakes.”  The deaths of millions of innocent people are mistakes in Hillary-world.

“An incorrigible belief in the purity of one’s motives is among the most dangerous endowments a politician can possess.”

A proposal for “tax fairness” and provide funds for the Transportation Trust Fund

01 Jul

Gov. Christie and legislative leaders are at impasse. They could not agree on a package of tax cuts and a hike in the “gas tax”, a user fee, (which is the only “fair” way to fund roads and bridges in today’s political environment) provide tax relief for the people of New Jersey and fund the depleted Transportation Trust Fund. The governor has ordered transportation projects halted as of today even though there appears to be enough money to fund projects until August 1.

Rather than go over all the details in the Sarlo-Oroho compromise that appeared to have enough bipartisan support to pass both houses of the legislature with enough votes to override Gov. Christie’s veto, the governor at the last moment calls for a 1% drop in the sales tax to 6% in the name of “tax fairness”.

If Gov. Christie wants more “tax fairness” in New Jersey, he should reduce all taxes for individuals and businesses. All taxes are unfair because they are coerced from the people who earned the income being taxed in the first place. In other words, all taxes should be cut, anytime not only for “fairness” but also to provide more of the resources people and businesses need to achieve their goals in life.

Does this mean Hillary’s goose is cooked?

01 Jul

Here comes the Biden/Warren ticket?  If so, all hell is going to break out at the Democratic convention. Bernie’s people are going to go ballistic

“The move by Attorney General Loretta E. Lynch would eliminate the possibility that a political appointee would overrule investigators.”
