The United States and other nations have launched a so-called humanitarian military campaign sanctioned by the United Nations against Libyan dictator Muammar Khadafy because he continues a relentless assault against a rebel uprising. The principle that a world organization can approve an attack on a sovereign nation—admittedly a country run by a dictator—is the height of arrogance and in the final analysis self defeating.

Ron Paul, Gary Johnson and the 2012 GOP presidential ticket
Rep. Ron Paul won the CPAC 2012 presidential straw poll on Saturday for the second year in a row. Mitt Romney came in second with 23% of the vote to Dr. Paul’s 30%. So how are the mainstream media spinning this turn of events? By asserting that the CPAC poll is not “scientific” and that there were so many young people under 25 out of the nearly 3,800 attendees.
Why abolishing the welfare state is the right thing to do
If you think government is a competent solver of social problems, think again. The Star Ledger reported (“N.J. tax to help low-income people pay cable TV bills was instead used to plug budget hole,” Feb. 6) that a fund established in 2006 by the Corzine administration to help low income and disabled New Jerseyans pay their cable bills has never been used as it was intended. In addition, to add insult to injury, the Christie administration “raided” the $9.4 million fund to balance this year’s state budget.
Obama’s vision: more crony capitalism and foreign intervention; the GOP response: we support the welfare-warfare state, too
While I was driving home Tuesday evening, I listened to President Obama’s State of the Union address for a few minutes on the radio. Obama’s speech was vapid with an insightful phrase thrown in here and there to show he really is a champion of free enterprise and middle-class values. Obama sounded like a cross between Vince Lombardi and the head of the Chamber of Commerce.
Americans overwhelmingly support Ponzi schemes
According to a New York Times/CBS News poll, Americans want less federal spending instead of paying higher taxes to reduce the deficit. However, about two thirds of Americans would prefer higher payroll taxes for Medicare and Social Security rather than seeing any cutbacks in benefits. In other words, Americans rightfully oppose higher taxes to solve the federal government’s unconscionable spending polices, but they also want to perpetuate the greatest Ponzi schemes in human history, Social Security and Medicare.
Willie Sutton economics: rob the rich to balance the budget
According to a recent “60 Minutes”/Vanity Fair poll, 61% of Americans want to raise taxes on the “rich” to balance the budget. The next popular option is reducing defense spending. Cutting Medicare or Social Security is not very popular. Less than five percent of those polled want to reduce the federal government’s Ponzi schemes.
When is a Ponzi scheme “not” a Ponzi scheme? When the government runs it.
The first wave of baby boomers turned 65 on 1/1/11, making them eligible for Medicare, joining their parents, aunts and uncles and other relatives in one of the greatest Ponzi schemes created by any government. Instead of acknowledging that it is running a Ponzi scheme that is trillions of dollars in the hole, the federal government’s propaganda continues to extol the virtues of a government health insurance program that kicks in for its citizens when they turn 65 years old.
The thugs, misguided and parasites rule America
If you have high blood pressure, you do not want to read Steven Malanga’s Shakedown: The Continuing Conspiracy Against the American Taxpayer, unless you have taken a mega dose of your medication.
The liberty dream ticket for 2012: Ron Paul and Mike Doherty
With the announcement last week that Congressman Ron Paul will chair the House Financial Services subcommittee on domestic monetary policy, Dr. Paul’s media exposure has risen exponentially. Today, the New York Times has a front-page article about the congressman, without any snide remarks that would typically be included in a piece about “Dr. No.” On Sunday, the Week in Review section of the New York Times ran an article about Congressman Paul and the Federal Reserve.
A proposal to restore liberty and free enterprise
The following is an overview of my presentation to both the Middlesex County Tea Party and Americans for Liberty this month. The title of my talk is “How to get from here—big government—to there—limited government.” The talk contains suggestions to end the welfare-warfare state and replace it with a constitutional republic. At the end of the talk I suggest several books and essays for the attendees so they can become better spokespersons for the freedom philosophy. I am available to give this presentation to your association, group, wedding party, etc.
How to restore liberty
The following is an outline of the introductory remarks I made to the Middlesex County Tea Party meeting on December 2nd. In the rest of my remarks I discuss how to phase out Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid and restore the federal government to its constitutional foundation. To hear how can have a limited government in America ASAP, join me at the next meeting of Americans for Liberty on December 7th in Parsippany. Please visit Americans for Liberty for details of my talk. Hope to see Tuesday.
Support the nanny state…or you are an “enemy of the state”
Political correctness and the nanny state dominate our culture. We see this displayed everyday on the editorial pages of America’s newspapers. The latest editorial supporting more government intervention to protect “public health” is found in surprise, surprise, The Record (Hackensack, NJ), “Smoke and Fries: ‘Nanny state’ is good for your health.”
This is the government we have chosen
One of the most memorable lines in American cinema occurred on a balcony in a Havana hotel on the eve of the Cuban Revolution. On the balcony Hyman Roth, an elderly gangster, is speaking to Michael Corleone about making an “investment” in Cuba, as rebel forces are challenging the regime of Dictator Fulgencio Batista, days before Fidel Castro takes over Havana on January 1, 1959. At this meeting of several Mafia chieftains, Roth says to Michael, “This is the business (crime) we have chosen.”
The welfare state implosion is accelerating
Students have rioted in England because college and university tuition is poised to take another leap upward. Higher education tuition as late as the 1990s was zero. To help balance the national budget the Conservative government of Prime Minister Cameron is slashing welfare subsidies and increasing the cost of government services. In short, financial reality is catching up to the British government and its people.
The Sovietization of the American media
In the former Soviet Union, dissidents were called “enemies of the state” by the ruling apparatchiks and imprisoned for posing a threat to the ruling order. In addition, dissidents were branded as mentally ill and confined to a psychiatric ward so they could be “cured” of their anti-state thoughts. Ironically, in America today the mass media are performing a similar task as the thugs who enslaved the Russians and other ethnic groups for nearly seventy five years by insinuating that critics of the federal government are “dangerous” and mentally unbalanced.
